I think you'd need to put the DTS audio in a container (such as MKV), then create a DirectShow script to open the MKV via AVISynth, but foobar2000 should be able to open the script and convert to wave. Only to decode DTS-Express with eac3to in CLI mode, but can be replaced by ffmpeg.

It particularly handles 'strange setup' differently than eac3to. Asset has transcode on the fly for FLAC to Wave which the LGs support natively. Theres also the option of using MakeMKV which uses Arcsoft decoder on a different level than eac3to. I use Asset media server UPnP for music and audio book files streaming.

The BD players support MKV, XVID, MP4 and VOB. There's avisynth and directshow input plugins for foobar2000. Plays DTS HDMA and Dolby Digital 640k without any skips or stutters as well as AAC multi-channel and no need to transcode on the fly. The only downside is MeGUI can't output wave files, so I output as FLAC as it's lossless, then convert the flac file to wave with foobar2000, or just about any audio conversion program. Due to licensing problems with AC3 / DTS, QNAP eliminated the support for these codecs a few years ago, and so lost the ability to transcode content with these codecs. I don't have LAV Filters installed but I use that method for decoding with ffdshow now and then.

Choosing "DirectShow" should allow the default DirectShow decoder to do the decoding. None of the versions can decode LFE channel in 2.1 files. You can load a dts file into MeGUI's audio section and set the preferred decoder in the audio encoder configuration. I don't have it.ĮDIT: Forgot to mention about 2.1 bug. below will encode main audio stream to ac3 as only audio and keep all video, subtitles: ffmpeg -i 'original.mkv' -c:v copy -c:a ac3 -b:a 640k -c:s copy new. Of course, to be sure that decoding is done properly some "reference proper" decoder is needed. I prefer ac3 audio vs DTS myself so these examples would take main audio and convert to ac3 while leaving video and subtitle streams untouched. The conclusion for lossless: the best versions are 1.1.0.0 and 1.1.0.1. Note that MA 7.1 16/48 "strange setup" is decoded as 24/48 by all versions.

#Makemkv dts decoder 32 bit
Mono decoding was broken in 1.1.0.5 and partially fixed in 1.1.0.8 (outputs as stereo). hi im new to this and new to converting i have a film which is mkv-dts now i tried to used popcorn to convert the audio to mkv ac3 but when it does the last stage i get message process wait extracting the file but then i left it for a hour or so and still nothing but i did get a message when i installed popcorn about im using windows 7 64bit and the version i installed was 32 bit version and. 8).Īll versions output identical streams except mono case. It decodes all configurations I've tested, in proper bitdepth, and decoding algorithm didn't change since this version (except 6.0 bug in. The conclusion for lossy: I assume the best version for lossy DTS is 1.1.0.5. My results differ from results that some people posted in eac3to thread, I guess there may be some eac3to specific problems.ġ) 1.1.0.0 and 1.1.0.1 always decode lossy DTS as 24 bit, and their decoding results differ from each other.Ģ) 1.1.0.5 and up decode in proper bitdepth.ģ) Versions 1.1.0.5 and up decode lossy DTS identically.Ĥ) 1.1.0.1 and 1.1.0.5 decode 24 bit lossy DTS identically.ĥ) Decoding of 16 bit lossy DTS was changed from 1.1.0.0 to 1.1.0.1 and from 1.1.0.1 to 1.1.0.5.Ħ) 1.1.0.7 and 1.1.0.8 decode 6.0 without back center channel. Using the Just Remux option you get the original DTS-HD or DTS Core streams in your mkv file and you can also convert to AC3. Staxrip can get both streams if you select the DTS-HD option or otherwise rips just the Core if you select DTS. I tested 5 different versions of dtsdecoderdll.dll along with LAV Audio, here are results. Choose the mkv container and in the audio options add DTS passthrough.
